March Review

I can’t believe March has already past! Man, that absolutely flew by and was such a busy month.  I had such a busy and expensive but excellent month.  It was 3 of my friend’s birthday, 3 of my family’s birthdays, Mother’s Day and my sisters Hen Do! Phew!

Movies;

The Last Five Years
So I discovered this musical this month and I am now completely and utterly obsessed with it.  Following the two protagonists Cathy and Jamie through their 5 year relationship.  The musical is hilarious and heart-breaking and completely just broke my heart and swallowed me whole.  It was meant to come out to cinemas in the UK in February, but we are still awaiting a release date.  I am constantly listening to the soundtrack and I have watched the movie 3 times now.
Mostly addicted to the songs; I can do better than that, Summer in Ohio, Shiksa Goddess, Climbing Uphill and all the rest of them.

Cinderella
I went to see this somewhat reluctant. I did not enjoy it, as I felt it brought nothing new at all to the story.  It is very pretty people and landscapes but with little depth and shockingly without musical numbers.  To me it felt empty and I did feel unsatisfied but some will enjoy this as it follows the classic fairy tale style and the cinematography is easy on the eyes.

TV;

House Of Cards

I started watching this show due to many people ranting and raving and although the show isn’t awful I have confirmed it is just not for me.  I thought this would teach me about American Politics but I found myself confused about who people were or what job they did and how it affected the government.  I found it pretty exhausting and ended up throwing the towel in on this one.

Futurama

I always like to have a show to watch that is light-hearted and doesn’t take too much time to watch an episode like Friends or The Simpsons and Futurama is perfect.  This show is so good and will keep me going for ages as I think 10 seasons are on Netflix!

Grey’s Anatomy

This is the only TV show I watch which is currently still on.  Everything else is on hiatus and this makes me so sad, I miss all my shows!  On season 11 of Grey’s and although it has majorly lost its way at time I actually think this season is great – although admittedly the show is on its way out.

Travelling

Lusty Beg Island

For my friend Catherine’s birthday we went away for 3 nights to Lusty Beg Island just 40 minutes from Enniskillen.  Whilst there we did a nature walk, used the spa facilities including a hot tub, had a BBQ on our balcony and seen the Marble Arch Caves.  It was incredibly beautiful and lovely to be away somewhere no naturally beautiful!
We got a Groupon deal for a log cabin for 6 of us complete with 2 bathrooms, huge living room space with sofas and dining table and a balcony overlooking a lake.
Liverpool
Shortly after Lusty Beg I headed off on a plane to Liverpool for a few days!
Liverpool is my favorite UK city.  It has so much life around it and feels like it is buzzing.  Although this was just my second visit it really felt like home and I would love to return there again someday.  They sell Krispy Kreme donuts, and their home bargains sell alcohol!
We went to Central Perk coffee shop which was all FRIENDS themed!
The theme of the night out was superheroes so we went out all dressed as superheros and I made hen party bags tailor made for everyone.  It was very cute.

Special Events;

- I got a manicure for the first time in my life, and loved it!
- Visited Marble Arch Caves
- Met Rua for the first time! (Borrowmydoggy)
- Vowed to only use Cruelty-free make-up from now on!

Hope everybody had a lovely month, and here’s to a great April! Wedding next month ahhhhh.
