June Review

This month has actually really brought me a lot of happiness, and I originally thought I would spend it saving every penny I had for next months holidays.  Here are a few things I have been spending my month doing;

Films;

I went to see this film semi-dreading it.  The first 20 minutes was sort-of funny but a little predictable but as it progressed I was so impressed by the plot and the humour.  Probably the best film I have seen all year and the best comedy in literal years. 5/5 - go see it!

TV Shows;

After finishing the entire Mad Men series it was about time to start the following;

OITNB; Despite not being a HUGE fan of this show I am moderately enjoying watching season 3.  Is it just me or is there less sex in this season though?

Shows;

The Last Five Years @ Lyric Belfast

This musical is probably right up there with Les Mis as my favourite musical of all time. When I found out this was showing in Belfast - I was the first to buy tickets.  It takes place in a smaller room in the lyric where there are 200 seats max.  The setting is so intimate and the performances and staging took me to a completely different world.  I took my sister (who had no knowledge at all of the musical) and she absolutely loved it.  I encourage everybody to go and see this.  I loved it so much I am going again before it leaves on the 4th July!

Hope you are all well!

LUSH Discontinued

It comes to that time of year when LUSH loses some products from the normal range to make way for some new and exciting products.  In this year's case the main influx will be a selection of the new Oxford Street products - two of which are Comforter Shower Cream and Yuzu Shower Cream (confirmed by the LUSH Belfast instagram)

So what will we be losing and is it worth trying/stocking up on before they leave?

Bath Bombs;

Phoenix Rising - £3.35

One for cinnamon lovers!  This purple spicy bomb plops to the bottom of your bath where the outside purple bath melt melts away and uncovers the blue inner bath bomb.  Show casing a beautiful display.  Sadly I just don't enjoy this scent as it is quite strong and spicy (almost savory) cinnamon.  I much prefer the Christmas limited edition one "Cinders" which is a sweeter cinnamon with popping Candy.

Space Girl - £2.35

Smelling like parma violet sweets this was one of the first bath bombs from LUSH I tried.  It explodes with a red lustre and underneath is a delightfully sweet purple core with many moisturising ingredients making it absolutely lovely.  Will need to stock up a few of these!

Granny Takes a Dip - £3.35

This bomb is actually pretty new and they are replacing this with the bubble bar of the same name, scent and design.  Sadly, I have heard bad reports about this bubble bar saying the scent is very weak and leaves your bath a murky colour.  Therefore it will be a shame to see this hippy-ish bath bomb go.  It smells sweet with a bit of kick of black pepper and always looks pretty melting into the water while the colours swirl and merge.

Rose Queen - £2.75

With a simple rosy scent this bath bomb is easily forgettable. It is a smaller pink bath bomb that smells like rose and has rose petals throughout.  Beautiful in it's simplicity, but I will not personally miss or stock up on this bath bomb.

Bubble Bars;

Dorothy - £3.25

Creatively designed as a rainbow over a blue background, this bubble bar is fantastic.  I love the smell and despite it being small it packs a punch with the amount of bubbles.  I've always wished this came in a bigger size for bigger value but instead we are missing out on this one.  I will definitely get one of this to stock up!

Amandopondo - £2.75

I've actually never tried this one as I can never get a scent of it in the LUSH shop.  It is meant to smell a mix between lemon and rose, and rocks a simple design of a white thick disc with a rose bud on top of decoration.  Definitely need to pick one up before they are gone!

Scrubs;

You Snap the Whip - £6.50

With the familiar scent of the Comforter I cannot deny the beauty of the scent of this, and it's effectiveness as a scrub.  I would however suggest cutting up into 9 small pieces to fully get the use and value out of it.  I do have a few scrubs at the minute and a few comforter scented products so I big the one a fond farewell.

Aqua Mirablis - £6.50

I have never tried this one either, but have heard it is the less greasy version of Buffy.

Shower jellies;

Sweetie Pie - £3.50/100g, £6.95/240g

A comforter scented jelly which is purple with a pretty silver shimmer throughout.  I am torn whether to stock up on this or not! Maybe a small pot?!

Shower Gels;

Flying Fox - £4.95/100g, £9.95/250g, £16.95/500g

Frankly, I am happy to see this shower gel go.  It smells very strongly of jasmine which is one of my least favourite scents.

Grass - £4.95/100g, £9.95/250g, £16.95/500g

Although I appreciate the scent of this shower gel, I have only ever tried samples and didn't fall in love with it so I am happy it is going too.

Face and Body;

Aqua Marina (Facial Cleanser) - £6.75/100g, £16.88/ 250g

Never used this - so that's fine with me!

Lustre (Dusting Powder) - £10.25/45g

I have never and will never buy a dusting powder - I really just don't see the point.

Lovely Jubblies (Firming breast cream) - £16.95/100g

Never tried - no desire to try.

Tiny hands (Hand cream) - £4.50/60g

I love the idea of a solid hand cream, but I have SO many hand creams all the time. I might get a sample of this from the website.

Putty for your hands (Hand Soap) - £5.00/100g

A 100% natural soap.  The dearest soap by a clear mile, I can see why this one is going!

Stepping Stone (Foot Scrub) - £3.10/60g

A fresh smelling foot scrub. Never tried, no interest really in doing so.

Formulae Knows As (Hand and Body Lotion) - £6.95/95g, £12.95/ 250g

This is the old charity pot, smells like white chocolate a bit.  Again a lotion which doesn't set my eart alight.

Vanilla Puff - £4.95/50g

Dusting Powder, it's a no from me...

Soap;

Ice Blue - £3.10/100g

A lovely fresh minty soap which is great for mornings.  I have used this soap and liked it, but I have many more I prefer.

Dirty - £4.10/100g

Similar to Ice Blue but with a slightly more masculine scent.

Mangnificent - £4.00/100g

I wasn't a fan of this soap.  I found it very greasy and hard to store and the scent was more subtle than I would of liked.

Godmother - £3.10/100g

A beautifully sweet soap that produces a thick lather and has great moisturising properties!

What products will you miss from this list?

Mad Men

I watched this before and wasn't a big fan, but I have powered my way through this this month.  Sadly my American Netflix started playing silly beggars but I am almost finished season 5 and I am still as engaged.

Pitch Perfect 2 - 3/5 stars

Mad Max - Fury Road

Absolutely mental, but fantastic and for somebody who hates action movies I found a lot of enjoyment in this one.
